Shock Value: Entry 235 "Opinions"
0
I think I need to take a moment and explain something that's often misunderstood. There is a big difference between Facts and "Opinions." It funny how someone else's "Opinions" can easily become Facts if you don't say a word about it. For example, some people form their own "Opinions" about people before they even meet them. I mean, they quickly turn their "Opinions" into Facts by sharing their "Opinions" with others and not letting anyone know its just their "Opinion." I am disturbed when I think about how people let other people's "Opinions" become Facts so easily. Frankly, I could care less what "Opinions" people have of me, because it only becomes a Fact if then can prove it, even remotely.
You can say what you think all you want about others, but your judgments and "Opinions" needs some evidence to support any of those theories you may have about them. I try to steer clear of those persons who are so, so "Opinionated." Actually, not because they are "Opinionated" but because I am so, so "Opinionated" a problem between the two of us will most definitely arise. The difference between me and most people is, once I develop an "Opinion" of something or about someone, I work diligently to find evidence to support my "Opinions." I think "Opinions" are absolutely fine. Like I said earlier, they only become a problem when people began to make their "Opinions" Facts and then they coerce others to unfairly buy into these "Opinions" or began to believe them to be Facts. "Opinions" are important, because they give you an tool to share your thoughts about a situation. However, you need to find a solution to your "Opinion" by searching for evidence to either define your "Opinion" as Fact or Fiction. I will always be very "Opinionated," but I do know that my "Opinions" are worthless if they aren't supported. As a person who aims not to be a hypocrite, I normally try to state my "Opinion" only after I begun working to try to seek out the Facts.
If you can't take other people's "Opinions" of you, keep your "Opinions" to yourself. As the saying goes, "If you cant take the heat, stay out the kitchen." Facts matter, and "Opinions" do too. Each one of them have a place in this life. Knowing the difference will keep you from preemptively getting upset when someone says how they feel about something you did. Think of it this way, it's just their "Opinion." and they are entitled to that. If their "Opinion" is actually a Fact, then deal with it. You know you needed to hear it the Facts anyway.

Shock Value: Entry 234 "Been Around The World"
0
If there is one thing I really enjoy, it's traveling. I don't mean, jumping in the whip and heading to the next metropolitan area either. I mean heading out of my state, region of the U.S., and/or out of the country. Traveling is so important. I know people and I am sure you do too, who have never been out of their burrough, left their block, or out of their neighborhood. There is so much to see out there and so little time to do it.
I have been fortunate to travel both internationally and nationally, but I have yet to be able to say I have truly "Been Around The World." I mean, I have been fortunate enough to go to places like Canada, Brazil, Germany, Bahamas, Mexico, the Grand Cayman Isles, etc., but my ultimate goal is to visit all seven continents. I personally believe we all should seek the answer to the question whether the world is round or flat? Have you "Been Around The World?" If so, you are so lucky. I appreciate traveling because there are so many cultures out there and so many things to learn about. There are so many languages to hear spoken, food to see prepared, and places to go that don't look like home. If you haven't "Been Around The World," then ask yourself, where have you been? If your answer only consist of a few places locally, tourism spots like Disney, or something like that, its time for you to plan a real vacay. Hey, if you need some feedback or some suggestions, hit me up I will be glad to assist.
One of the many things I want to say I have done when my time is up, is that I have "Been Around The World." Other people do it and I think we all should too. I know sometimes traveling may seem expensive, but it's all about when you go and how you go. There a number of websites out there that can get you anywhere in the world and it won't break you. Also, with the recession, companies are darn near giving away trips, flights, and get-a-ways to anywhere in the world. So, if you don't have anything else to do today, take a moment to look at a map, think about where your really want to go. Then, get online and find ways you can get there. Lastly, start coming up with a plan to save, book your trip, and begin your journey. If you haven't "Been Around The World," or at the very least out of your state, then you have yet to live. And if we don't live while we are alive, what are we really doing?
