Mean Muggin'

0

What in the world did I or anyone else ever do to you? Why is it that you have to look like you bit into a lemon and now you can't get the taste out of your mouth? Whatever it is that you are going through, I am sure it could be worse. Do you really think that face makes you look intimidating? Well, new flash---it doesn't. Actually you look like a fool. So quit your Mean Muggin'! For those of you who don't know what Mean Muggin' is. It is when people walk around with a permanent scowl on their face. They look like a pit pull or like someone took a number 2 on their top lip. Yes, its just that awful. And frankly, I am over it. Mean Muggin' is so 2001.

It is sad that today you will see way more people Mean Muggin' then you will see smiling. I don't get why everyone is so upset. Sure we all are going through at this moment, but you can't be mad at the world. If you want to Mean Mug' something: Mean Mug the gas pump; Mean Mug the politicians; Mean Mug social media; and/ or Mean Mug your favorite rapper's favorite rapper. All of the afore deserve a good Mean Muggin' for the level of ignorance they display and their blatant disregard for the welfare of us all, but we don't. I know you have heard the old saying, "it takes twice as many muscles to frown as it does to smile." So why aren't you smiling? Don't get me wrong, I am not a person to be cheesin' all the time either, but I sure don't walk around looking like I got hit in the face with a bag of ugly. Some of you can't help that, but you can at least stop Mean Muggin'. Get over whatever it is that you are thinking/feeling to make you look that way. It isn't cute, sexy or cool. Actually, you just look like a da*n fool.

Mean Mug That!!!

Independence Day, Or Is It?!!!

0

I appreciate all your well wishes on this 4th of July. But I don't celebrate the 4th of July otherwise known as Independence Day. I unfortunately don't partake in the celebration of Independence Day. Think about it, what have we as a people gained Independence from? We are still an enslaved culture to this very day. The only so called freedoms we have were granted to us by those who enslaved us from the start. That is like a husband who beats his wife regularly, teaching a class on domestic violence. (shaking my head) I am thankful, because I know we do have a lot more freedom(s) then people of other nations. But until we are truly free from oppression, obsession with superstars, depression from not being skinny or rich enough, only then will I celebrate Independence Day.

I am not like others, because I don't blame our issues on the "man." To me, there is a "man" inside of each of us. The "man" in us holds us back from being who we were destined to be. We will never be Independent until we free our mind to explore other options. We will never be Independent until we can hold others around us who are destroying our culture accountable for their actions. We will never be Independent until we boycott social media's depiction of us on t.v. I highly anticipate the opportunity to celebrate our Independence on that glorious Day when it comes. Until then, you keep shooting your fireworks and I will keep being optimistic that one Day, this nation or those people around us will, "Give us, us, free."

You know what? People are really crazy. Always trying to outdo one another, always competing – and for what? Just to say I’m better than you or to feel as if they have something you don’t. Really people, is that what life is supposed to be? I think not. 9 times out of 10, people feel the need to belittle or put down the next man because they, themselves, feel low. But that’s not even the sad part. The sad part is, they can’t feel better until they make you feel worse. They don’t see value within themselves so they have to devalue the things around them. These things can be me, you, or the next man, for misery is indiscriminant.

This was the premise of a recent conversation I had with a friend the other day and towards the end he asked me “so what’s the solution?” The solution is simple. We, meaning all of us, need to learn to uplift one another. We must learn to acknowledge the accomplishments of others in a non condescending way. I cannot tell you guys how many times I’ve received a congratulatory comment anchored in condescension. “Oh you think you’re all that because…” or “don’t get the big head just because you’ve …” It’s this type of behavior that creates negativity and disdain amongst people which creates and fuels unnecessary competition. It’s a circular thing!!! Get it! I truly hope so. Either way people, get your mind right, and the rest will follow. I promise.

Be easy….

Whut it do passengers? This is your Captin speaking!

You know what?? People are crazy. The trick is not to let them drive you into madness

when dealing with them. Unfortunately, some people labor under the notion that the

world, in its entirety, completely revolves around them, their wants, and their needs.

This is a grand mis-conception to say the least. What I am saying should be common

sense, but as my grandmother always told me, “just because there called common sense,

don’t mean everybody has them.”

For all the self absorbed tunnel vision-ed people who may read this, I’d now like to say

to you– WAKE YO ASS UP!!!!! We live in a world populated with individuals, each of

whom has their own conceptions and perceptions of reality. This is fact – not fiction. I

say that to say this; it is important to realize and respect the fact that God didn’t put

anyone on this earth to control or dictate the rights and actions of others. Contrary to

what many believe, there is no such thing as divine right.

So people please. I beg you… get your minds right and I promise you the rest will

follow. And remember to love and RESPECT thy neighbor. That is all…

Peace and a bottle of hair grease!!!

Open A Window

0

The more I go through life the more I learn things. I can't tell you how many things I know now that I wish I knew back then. Some of the things I know now, I feel would have spared me a lot of hurt, heart ache and pain. But, I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason. One thing I do know is that when you feel claustrophobic or overwhelmed with the ways of the world, sometimes you need to Open A Window.

We usually have so many thing going on. We work day-to-day and never get the proper rest as we are suppose to. Thus, we are usually restless as we maneuver through our daily tasks. We are frustrated because there is never enough time in the day to do what we need, and most of us don't have the resources readily available to do the things we would like to do. But, instead of letting your spirits get down due to things you can't control, simply Open A Window. There are numerous things that remain trapped inside of us because we are so private and scared to let things out in fear that others will judge us. But, if you never Open A Window, new things won't become available to you and the old things that you need to get rid can't get out. Fresh air is as necessary as food for survival. Open A Window and let life flow in and death flow out.

The Proof Is In The Pudding

0

I use to always hear people say, "The Proof Is In The Pudding." I wasn't to sure what that meant, but as I grew older I learned the meaning. The Proof Is In The Pudding is another way of saying that you can say what you like, but the things you do demonstrate how serious you are about the things you say in do. In other words, The Proof Is In The Pudding, is another manner of saying, "Practice what you preach."

In this day and age, people say all kids of things, but they don't usually mean everything they say. They will tell you this and that, but they have no intentions of doing anything they told you. They will sale you a dream and tell you it's reality. However, if you know that you are a person who believes what you say to be true, then you must realize, The Proof Is In The Pudding. If you want people to believe what you say, demonstrate through your works and actions that you aren't just a person who talk. Let your words become actions, which will eventually speak louder than words. People, don't waste your time trying to convince other that you can do this or that, The Proof Is In The Pudding. Let them sample that.

Greetings WOODWORKZ Nation! I'm happy to announce that we here at WW have

reached a milestone! Today we are celebrating our 2000th post! That's quite an

accomplishment considering I've been in my first year of Law School for the last year.

Without a doubt, about 90-95% of this achievement was made possible by "DA

INTELLEKTUAL"! He deserves most of the credit so I think that brotha deserves a

round of applause!

Mr. INTELLEKTUAL, we thank you for all your hard work and dedication. You have

held this site up like a Roman Pillar and without your support, it would be just another

under managed blog. Again, we really appreciate your efforts because after all, I truly

believe that this site is beginning of something much greater. And with that said, I just

need everybody to do one thing... Say GO DJ!!!

1/2 Way There

0

Most of you all probably don't know the significance of July 1st, so I will share it with you. July 1st, represents the 1/2 Way There mark in 2011. In lamens terms, that means we have six months left in 2011 before we are rolling into 2012. No being 1/2 Way There may not mean anything to many of you, but it is of great importance to some of us. The 1/2 Way There point is a benchmark for those of us who have set specific goals, expectations, and resolutions for 2011. At this point, we can gauge how well we have done in accomplishing those tasks we set out to achieve this year. Me, just like the rest of you, set resolutions on January 1st. It is at this time we can either begin to finish off what we started or start what we said we would that we haven't even began.

Being 1/2 Way There is better than not starting at all. So, if you are 1/2 Way There on those things you set out to achieve; keep on pushing. Yes, today is the 1/2 Way There point, but in no time we will be 3/4ths The Way There. Time always flies when you are having fun or in desperate need of more of it. Today you are just 1/2 Way There. Let's start making sure by tomorrow, we are moving well beyond the 1/2 Way There point into the All The Way There phase.
