The Treadmill Vs The Track

0

I get these epiphanies is the most weird places. Of course, with all that is going on in this life, diet and exercise are both very important. I don't have the least bit of problems with diet, but I like to only exercise doing things I enjoy (i.e., playing b-ball, flag football, softball, volleyball, tennis, or any other sport.) Running, just to be running; I absolutely hate it! But I need the cardio, so I force my flesh to get on The Treadmill at least once or twice a week. It's not that I don't like to run, but The Treadmill is so boring to me. No matter what tunes are pumping in my ear, or what's on the t.v. in front of me, I am usually bored to death. I can run for ages, but usually after about 3 miles on a great day, I just stop. However, I realized something the other day regarding my disdain for the Treadmill. It's not so much The Treadmill I despise, it's the fact that I am running in place.

Now you may not understand what I meant by that last line, so let me elaborate. I don't mind running at all, but the problematic piece with doing it on The Treadmill is I don't feel like I am making any progress. To me I am simply running in the same place. That is why in the future when I run, if I want to get the most out of my work out, I will utilize The Track. This whole Treadmill Versus Track can be taken out of the gym context and placed in our day-to-day lives. For days, weeks, years, and decades some of us have being running on The Treadmill. We've tried everything we could to move forward, but no matter what we do, we seem to be in the same place. Here is a tip: Get off that Treadmill and make a mad dash to the nearest Track.

We all need to take a second and identify those Treadmill moments in our life. Thus, when they try to re-appear, we can quickly shift to The Track. This life is all about being progressive & productive. You can absolutely do same thing every single day for the rest of your life if you chose to, but a life like that isn't worth living. There is too much out there that you have yet to do, and so much out there you have yet to see. Get off that Treadmill, lace up those new kicks and hit The Track today. See you at the finish line!

A Moment

0

Each and every one of us need A Moment. Sometimes we are going through things and we need A Moment to ourself with no interruptions. I don't foresee many issues with taking A Moment, other than the fact that people tend to annoy you to no end or need something from you right when you are trying to make the most of your Moment. A Moment can be a terrible thing to waste. A Moment can really determine whether you say something or not that you may regret forever. Or, A Moment may keep you from going to jail when ol' boi/gurl pushes you to your limit with the lying, cheating, etc. What you do in that Moment may ultimately positively or negatively affect the rest of your day/life.

I know in the hustle and bustle of this life, filled with so many necessities, it is hard to find time for yourself. But you need A Moment every now and then to keep you on track. That Moment is like pressing your physical re-set button. No matter what happened before you took A Moment, you can now decide what is going to happen as a result of you having to take A Moment. Today, I encourage all of you to stop doing the most, learn to slow down and take A Moment. Once you misuse or abuse A Moment, there is no getting it back. No matter how bad you want to take back what you said or did because you didn't take A Moment, you can't! You have to live with your choice to do whatever it is that you chose to do for the rest of your life.

Join me in this little exercise: Inhale....Exhale....Inhale...Exhale...Inhale....Exhale...Continue for about 2-3 minutes. Now that you have taken A Moment or two, you are ready to tackle whatever life challenge(s) is on the way.

Self-Worth

0

I tend to think that most of us don't contain the appropriate level of Self-Worth. What I mean is, because of the many external pressures in life, like family, friends, and social media, we allow other things/people to set our Value for us. We have gotten so caught up in being what others want us to be, we have forgotten our own Self-Worth.

I don't have to belabor this point at all people. I just want you all to know that you should be the only person that determines what you are Worth. Don't look for your Value in the eyes of a wo/man. You know what Cost you Pay to be who you are and you should be the only person that decided what Price others should Pay to be a part of your life. I am not a fan of people
Selling themselves short. You are Worth too much to this world, your family, and others around you to allow people who will only be there for a moment to De-Value you and tell you your Self-Worth.

I don't care who doesn't like the Price/standards you set for yourself. That just means they aren't Worth you or your time of day. Don't lower your expectations or Sale yourself short under any circumstance. She, he, them, him, her, and/or none of them are Worth it. Your Self-Worth, is what you are Worth to Yourself; that is for you and only you decide. YOU DON'T NEED ANY HELP AT ALL. LET THE BIDDING WAR BEGIN.
