On November 7, 2011 Dr. Conrad Murray was
found guilty of involuntary manslaughter in the death of Michael Jackson.
Today Judge Michael Pastor sentenced Murray to the maximum four year
sentence noting that,“Dr. Murray engaged in a recurring, continuous pattern of
deceit and lies.”
Jackson died on June 25, 2009 of acute propofol
intoxication. Murray admitted to administering the drug to Jackson, who was
suffering from insomnia. The drug is a powerful anesthetic administered
intravenously in hospitals to induce anesthesia in preparation for surgery.
Murray must also pay restitution to the Estate
and to MJ’s children at a later date.
