Shock Value: Entry 243 "For Granted"

0

I hate to say it, but all of us take things "For Granted" that we shouldn't. I mean we take things "For Granted" that are both small and large. For instance, time. All of us take time "For Granted." The saying goes, you should never put off until tomorrow what you can do today, but all of us do it. We waste time, like it is always going to be there. Most of us misuse and abuse time because we don't see the urgency in getting things done ahead of time. We procrastinate on about everything we have to do. But, what I do know is with everything that is going on in this life, all of us need to stop taking time "For Granted" and start being more thankful for the time we have and stop mistreating it. Tomorrow isn't promised to any of us.

Time isn't the only thing we take "For Granted." We take something that should matter to all of us "For Granted," family. Family is so important, but we most certainly take it "For Granted." We stay down the street from our love ones, but due to an argument over something dumb, we aren't even speaking. It takes a few minutes to pick up the phone and call your mom/dad, but you are always too busy. You and your brother/sister were inseparable when you two were growing up, but because s/he is dating someone you don't think is good enough for them, you all don't even speak. Ask yourself: is it really worth it? We need to stop taking family "For Granted." After all, you only get one.

More personal than the other two, and most important, we ALL take GOD "For Granted." We don't pray like we should, fast like we should, or worship like we should. I mean we would rather go to a party/club on Saturday night knowing we planned to go to the 8am service on Sunday, and of course we make the party/club, but not church. That whole, GOD knows my heart line, is true, but not to be abused. While it is true that GOD does know your heart, HE also knows that you should be more appreciative of the things HE has provided for you. We need to stop taking GOD "For Granted" today. Not only did HE send HIS son to die for our worthless souls, but HE continues to love us in spite of and in the midst of it all.

I think MONDAY is most appropriate to have this topic. It is the beginning of most work weeks and of course most of you hate Mondays. Mostly, because you don't like your job. But, check the unemployment rate in the U.S. right now. Don't take your job "For Granted" either, because there is someone who is sleeping in a suit every night waiting to get that call for the spot you are ungratefully occupying. There is so much to be thankful in this life. Yes, we don't have everything we want, but we have everything we need. Time is of the Essence. Family is the backbone of society. GOD is so amazing and has given you a chance to fulfill your dreams and destiny even though you don't deserve it. Stop taking things "For Granted" immediately! You have to make the best out of the cards you have been dealt. It's your hand, play it the best way possible, but just know, THE LORD GIVETH AND THE LORD TAKETH AWAY.
