A Mother Is...

A Mother is so much more than words can express. Whether you call her Mom, Momma, Grandma, Madea or by her name, A Mother is GOD'S gift to mankind. A Mother is one who nurtures, supports, loves, and provides for others when no one else sees fit. A Mother is the foundation of life, for when GOD created Adam he chose Eve, A Mother, to be his help-mate and to be the one who is responsible for Mothering the earth. A Mother is more than just a title, for there are a number of women who have children, but A Mother is one who rears children and never gives up on them no matter what. A Mother is the reason you and I are here.

No matter what type of relationship you have with your Mother, if she is still here today, let us all join in the celebration of her and others like her. Good, bad or indifferent, A Mother still made the choice to bring us in this world. Whether they kept us, gave us away, loved us, mistreated us, or just plain disappointed us, she is still A Mother and we must be reminded that she did the best she could with the hand she was dealt. Continue to love her, pray for her, support her, and no matter what, never give up on her, cause she never gave up on you.

A Mother is who some of you are or one day will be, to a child or to the world. How we thank you for the many sacrifices you make daily for not only your child/ren, but to all those other children you have taken in along the way. Today, we celebrate you. Stand up and take a bow; we have a special ovation for you. We love you, thank you and appreciate you for everything. Enjoy your day, although we should be celebrating you 365, not just today.
