My alarm went off this
morning and at that point
I realized it was Friday.
"Celebration Time Come On!"
Today's Topic: Jail
Yo- I don't know what's going on but perhaps I am missing something. What is up with everyone, well black men and rappers especially going in and out of Jail. I get so sad when I think about how some of the greatest wordsmiths and most talented are caged up in Jail. I know you get 3 hots and a cot, but is it really worth it? I am getting more nervous everyday, because now that Jail has become a new luxury hotel that everyone wants to go to. People do all kinds of things to end up there. They lie, steal, fight, shoOt, rob, and sale drugs, usually all to innocent people and children.
When did Jail become the new hot spot? Did I miss something? I mean, it is unbelievable how many black men and men of color are already in Jail, but these cats are working harder everyday to make sure they get a spot there too. I mean at what point does it stop. I am ashamed to read the newspaper or watch the news because there is always a crime story about a black man who has done something that is going to negatively affect his life forever. The unfortunate point is that these criminals are getting younger and younger. These "Youth In Revolt" have abandoned petty crimes like stealing gum and cds and are now engaged in grand theft auto, first degree murder, rape, and many other egregious acts of violence. It is bad when I don't even want to go outside because these little hoodlums don't have a thing in the world to live for and are looking to make a come up and they could care less about going to Jail. 9 times out of 10 they are homeless anyway and Jail provides them with a stable environment of food, clothing, and brotherhood. But its still Jail! We have got to do better to save these men and young men from themselves. Less Jails, more Schools!
